Svetlana grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia. It was the city itself that created her passion for art and architecture. By walking through world renowned galleries and museums, Svetlana learned from various Masters about light, colour, texture and composition.
While living in St. Petersburg, Svetlana enrolled in junior fine art school, where she studied painting, art composition, sculpture and history. After moving to Canada, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design (with Landscape Architecture option) from the University of Manitoba and a Master's of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Toronto. While acquiring her Bachelor's Degree, Svetlana also studied history of art and architecture in Rome, Italy as a summer student.
As a practicing Landscape Architect and an independent painter, Svetlana's work explores various states of nature. She uses colour and texture to create art works that expose whimsical sides of the natural environment.
